SBS Triumphs at the 58th Houston International Film Festival with 12 Awards

SBS has achieved remarkable success at the 58th Houston International Film Festival, securing a total of 12 awards across various categories. Notably, the drama 'Judge from Hell' (지옥에서 온 판사) and the SDF 20th Anniversary special 'People Who Saw the Future' (미래를 본 사람들) both received the prestigious Platinum Award, highlighting their artistic merit and impactful messages.
The Platinum Award-winning drama 'Judge from Hell', directed by Park Jin-pyo, features a judge possessed by a demon, Kang Bit-na (박신혜), who teams up with passionate detective Han Da-on (김재영) to punish wrongdoers and seek true justice in a fantasy narrative that explores the coexistence of good and evil. Its unique world-building, direction, social commentary, and the powerful performances of the cast garnered praise from the international jury.
The documentary 'People Who Saw the Future', directed by Lee Jeong-ae, also won a Platinum Award. It explores the theme 'Survival Strategies Rewritten in an Era of Division and Extinction' through interviews with scholars who have participated in SDF over the past 20 years, providing a multifaceted view of humanity's past, present, and future. The inclusion of experts from various fields contributed to its high acclaim for delivering profound insights.
In addition to the Platinum Awards, SBS received seven Gold Awards, two Silver Awards, and one Special Jury Award. The Gold Awards were given for programs including 'I Want to Know That - Ruth Yoon-hee and Eleven Marks', 'SBS Special - Theatrical Performance and Behind the Scenes with Kim Min-ki', 'Love Possessed', 'Jungle Bob', 'Chaebol X Detective', 'Deep Back', and 'Beamer Chronicles'. The Silver Awards went to 'Tales that Follow Tales - Circus Girl' and 'Please Take Care of My Cat'. 'Neighborhood House 2' received the Special Jury Award.
