‘Salim Nam’ Continues to Dominate Saturday Night Ratings

The popular KBS 2TV show, Salim Nam (살림하는 남자들 시즌2), has maintained its position as the number one Saturday night entertainment program for eight consecutive weeks, achieving impressive ratings. The episode aired on July 19, 2025, featured the countryside vacation of siblings Park Seo-jin (박서진) and Hyo-jung (효정), along with Park Young-kyu's (박영규) first-ever health check-up. The show recorded a nationwide rating of 7.1%, with a peak of 8.3% during a scene where Seo-jin greeted the character Ralral, who had removed her wig to reveal her true self.

Salim Nam has solidified its status as a powerhouse in the entertainment industry, consistently ranking first in Saturday night viewership and showing strong ratings among the 20-49 age demographic. The show continues to demonstrate its appeal with a steady increase in viewership each week.

In this episode, special guest Choi Ye-na (최예나), known as the 'human vitamin,' expressed her desire to collaborate with Park Seo-jin for a new song challenge. Seo-jin confidently responded, saying, "Dance is all about energy." Ye-na also noted a parallel between her relationship with her brother and that of Seo-jin and Hyo-jung, highlighting their similar age gaps.

The siblings then enjoyed a countryside vacation within Myung-hwa's universe, dressing up in themed outfits. Hyo-jung perfectly transformed into Myung-hwa, making Seo-jin laugh. However, when they arrived at a barn, Seo-jin was taken aback by the sight of manure, humorously expressing his frustration. She expressed her disappointment over comments about her age, with some viewers suggesting she looked much older. In a significant turn, Park Young-kyu underwent a health check-up for the first time in 73 years. He showed signs of anxiety during the preparation for a colonoscopy, jokingly asking his wife if she would be okay without him. His wife expressed her concerns about potential health issues due to his age, and Young-kyu shared his fears about facing serious health problems.

During the MRI scan, an unexpected interruption occurred, causing panic for his wife, but it turned out to be due to Young-kyu's wig. Following this, he underwent his first colonoscopy. After the examination, the doctor informed them that it was fortunate they had done the check-up, as a polyp removed from Young-kyu was likely precancerous. If left undetected for 2-3 years, it could have progressed to colon cancer.

In the studio, when it was revealed that Young-kyu had undergone the examination at the production team's suggestion, MC Eun Ji-won (은지원) remarked, "You saved a life," expressing relief. The couple recognized the importance of regular health check-ups and felt grateful for the opportunity to manage their health moving forward. The cast members watching the examination process also relaxed, sharing relieved smiles.
