Ryu Soo-young, Kim Seung-soo, and Jung Hye-in Win Top Awards at 2024 SBS Entertainment Awards

The 2024 SBS Entertainment Awards took place on January 29 at the SBS Prism Tower in Mapo, Seoul, where Ryu Soo-young from Jungle Bap (정글밥), Kim Seung-soo from My Little Old Boy (미운 우리 새끼), and Jung Hye-in from Goal Diggers (골 때리는 그녀들) were honored with the prestigious Best Actor awards.

Kim Seung-soo expressed his surprise upon receiving the award, stating, "I am truly taken aback. When I was first approached about this, I had a lot of concerns. I worried that my living alone at this age might not be comfortable or enjoyable for viewers. Although it may seem formal, the production team asked me to trust them just once, and I gathered the courage to participate."

He continued, "I’m grateful that it turned out to be something viewers didn’t find unpleasant. I want to thank the production team and my fellow cast members. I also appreciate my mother. I feel like I only deserve 30% of this award. I’ve received a great blessing this New Year, and I hope to share more this year. I will continue to work hard. Thank you so much."

Ryu Soo-young, who was filming in the jungle at the time, appeared via video. He expressed his emotions after receiving the trophy, saying, "Winning this award while cooking on such a wonderful program as Jungle Bap is truly an honor. The show aims to teach and learn about Korean cuisine with those unfamiliar with it. I believe that sharing meals connects us as a people. I feel proud and grateful. I will keep working hard."

Jung Hye-in received the Best Actress award for her role in Goal Diggers. She reflected on her experience, saying, "I often heard questions about why I worked so hard on Goal Diggers. I’ve had four years of happiness, but there were also many challenging times. The show helped me solidify those experiences. I was able to give my all while participating. I want to thank the production team for giving me the greatest gift of my life, and I see this award as encouragement to keep working hard in the future."
