On March 26, his agency, Bonboo Entertainment, stated, 'The rumors that Choo Sung-hoon paid for Kim Sae-ron's funeral are not true.' Previously, speculation circulated online suggesting that Choo had voluntarily taken on the costs out of sympathy for Kim. The agency felt compelled to clarify the situation after media reports began to emerge regarding the claims. Although Choo and Kim appeared together on a variety show in the past, they reportedly did not share a personal friendship outside of the program.
