Robert Pattinson Expresses Admiration for Bong Joon-ho and Confidence in 'Mickey 17'

Hollywood actor Robert Pattinson has shared his deep respect for director Bong Joon-ho and his excitement for the upcoming film 'Mickey 17'. In a video titled 'Small Talk with Robert Pattinson' released on the YouTube channel 'John or Park', Pattinson discussed his role in the film, which is set to premiere at the end of this month. He recently visited South Korea for the first time, where he met with local fans during a three-night, four-day trip and also connected with singer John Park.
Reflecting on his collaboration with Bong Joon-ho, Pattinson stated, "Bong is one of those directors I grew up watching. I've been a fan for a long time, and honestly, I never thought I would get to work with him, especially since he hadn't made many English-language films before 'Okja'. While 'Snowpiercer' had a lot of English, it was still a different experience."
He continued, "It's incredibly rare to work with a director of his caliber on a project of this scale with a major production company. When I read the script, I felt something special; it seemed like the studio had suddenly become very bold. Typically, big-budget films tend to recycle similar stories and play it safe, but this film is completely out there. So I thought, 'Okay, let's do this.'"
John Park chimed in, noting that this boldness must have been appealing to Pattinson, to which he agreed, saying, "Absolutely. Bong is a true master. You can't help but trust him when you watch his films. He is a completely original artist. It's thrilling to be part of a project that a studio fully trusts him with."
'Mickey 17' follows the story of Mickey, played by Pattinson, who is a disposable worker sent on dangerous missions. As he faces his 17th death, a new version, Mickey 18, is printed, leading to unpredictable events. This film marks Bong Joon-ho's return to global cinema six years after his Academy Award-winning film 'Parasite'. Fans around the world are eagerly anticipating its release.
