Renowned Writer Kim Eun-sook Donates 60 Million Won for Wildfire Relief

Prominent writer Kim Eun-sook has made a generous donation of 60 million won to aid in the recovery efforts following recent wildfires. The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association, led by President Song Pil-ho, announced on March 27 that both Kim Eun-sook and Yoon Ha-rim, CEO of Hwa & Dam Pictures, contributed this significant amount to support the affected regions in Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, and Ulsan.
As members of the high-value donor group 'Hope Bridge Honor Society,' the duo has been actively involved in charitable giving since the Sewol ferry disaster in 2014, consistently contributing during various disasters such as floods, wildfires, and earthquakes.
A representative from Hwa & Dam Pictures expressed their hope that this donation would provide some comfort and strength to those who have been deeply affected by the wildfires, which are being described as the worst in history. They also expressed a desire for the fires to be extinguished swiftly.
Shin Hoon, the Secretary-General of Hope Bridge, expressed gratitude towards Kim Eun-sook and Yoon Ha-rim for their continuous support for disaster victims, stating, 'Hope Bridge will do its utmost to help the affected individuals return to their daily lives as soon as possible.'
In addition to financial support, Hope Bridge has been providing relief supplies, including 420,000 items such as emergency kits, partition walls for shelters, blankets, daily necessities, bottled water, and food to the wildfire-affected areas. They are also conducting on-site relief activities, including laundry services at evacuation centers.
Established in 1961 by various media outlets and social organizations, the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association specializes in disaster relief fundraising. Their main activities include emergency disaster relief, fundraising and distribution of public donations, community recovery post-disaster, and support for vulnerable populations affected by disasters. To date, they have provided 1.6 trillion won in donations and over 60 million relief items.
