Remembering Moonbin on His Birthday: Tributes from Family and Friends

As the birthday of the late Moonbin (문빈) approaches, voices of remembrance echo from those who cherished him. Born on January 26, 1998, Moonbin tragically passed away on April 19, 2023.

On this special day, his sister and fellow group member from Billlie, Moon Sua (문수아), shared a heartfelt message, saying, "Happy birthday to my one and only brother," along with a photo of them smiling together. The siblings have been known for their close bond, having appeared on MBC's 'Hojakmate' where they showcased their supportive relationship as both siblings and colleagues in the entertainment industry.

Cha Eun-woo (차은우) also expressed his longing for Moonbin, posting a photo from a visit to a memorial space dedicated to him, along with the message, "Happy birthday, I miss you." He shared a cover of Shin Seung-hun's song 'After a Long Time' on his YouTube channel, conveying his feelings for his late friend.

In a touching letter, Cha Eun-woo wrote, "Happy birthday, Bin. How are you? I’ve been missing you a lot lately. There’s so much I want to talk about over a drink, but I can’t lean on you anymore. I’m sorry I haven’t been able to visit as often as last year. The more I think of you, the more I’ve been holding on and working hard, just like you wanted. But now, it feels a bit overwhelming. I don’t know if I’m doing well. Your absence is felt deeply, my friend. I just miss you. I love you. Happy Moonbin Day."

Actress Kim Sae-ron (김새론), who worked with Moonbin on the web drama 'To Be Continued', also shared her memories, posting a photo with the simple caption "HBD". Previously, she had changed her social media profile picture to a dandelion, symbolizing her tribute to Moonbin, as it was the last photo he posted on his account.

Moonbin remains in the hearts of many, having been found deceased at his home in Gangnam, Seoul, at the age of 25. He debuted with ASTRO in 2016, where he served as the main dancer and sub-vocalist, showcasing his versatility in music, acting, and variety shows. His sudden passing sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry.

Currently, a memorial space for Moonbin has been established at the National Assembly Hall in Namhansanseong.
