Red Velvet's Wendy Expresses Condolences on Her Radio Show

On December 30, Wendy, a member of Red Velvet, shared her heartfelt condolences during her radio show, 'Wendy's Youngstreet' (웬디의 영스트리트), which aired on SBS Power FM. In her opening remarks, she emphasized the importance of showing care and support for those around us, stating, "We express our concern for others by saying we 'put our hearts into it.' Now is the time to do this wholeheartedly; when we convey our sincere comfort, it will reach those in need."

Wendy continued, "The good news is that the more we share our feelings, the more they grow, so it’s okay to express them freely. I will also strive to offer my full support to you all. I sincerely wish for the peace of the departed and extend my condolences to the bereaved families."

Her comments were in remembrance of the tragic Jeju Air plane accident that occurred on December 29, where flight 7C2216 from Bangkok attempted to land at Muan International Airport but crashed due to landing gear failure, resulting in the deaths of 179 out of 181 passengers, with only two survivors.

Wendy added, "What I can do today is to take this time to share comforting words with many people. Once again, I want to express my condolences to the families of the victims."

In response to the tragedy, the government has declared a national mourning period until January 4 at midnight.
