Rapper Yoon Byung-ho Releases New Single from Prison Amid Drug Charges

Rapper Yoon Byung-ho (23), known by his stage name BULLY DA BASTARD, has released a new single titled 'Already' while serving a prison sentence for drug-related offenses. Despite facing legal troubles, including additional charges for drug use while incarcerated, Yoon continues to create music from behind bars. His agency, FTW Independence Records, announced the release on January 31, stating that Yoon is actively working on music even while in prison. He reportedly collaborates with his family by sending them lyrics through collect calls, which they then record and send back for editing. The agency emphasized Yoon's commitment to his craft and his deep remorse for his actions, expressing a desire for rehabilitation.

Yoon gained fame as a contestant on the hip-hop audition program 'High School Rapper' and was sentenced to seven years in prison by the Supreme Court in December 2023 for drug use, including methamphetamine and marijuana, at his home in Incheon in July 2022. He was also charged with purchasing fentanyl and attempting to buy methamphetamine in separate incidents. The court combined these cases, leading to his lengthy sentence. Additionally, while in custody, Yoon faced further charges for obtaining and using psychotropic drugs, including diazepam and zolpidem, in August 2022. He denied these allegations, claiming they were the result of others administering drugs without his knowledge, but the court found him guilty, resulting in an eight-month sentence with a two-year probation and mandatory drug education. Yoon has appealed this ruling, but his appeal was recently dismissed.
