Rapper San E Indicted After Assault Controversy

Rapper San E (real name Jeong San, 39) has been confirmed to have been transferred to the prosecution approximately five months after being charged with assaulting a pedestrian. The Mapo Police Station in Seoul announced on January 22 that San E was sent to the prosecution on January 10 for charges of special injury without detention. During the incident, San E's father, who was also charged on the same day, reached an agreement with the victim, who expressed a desire not to pursue punishment, leading to the case being closed under the non-punishable provision.
According to police reports, on July 28, 2024, around 8:30 PM, San E allegedly assaulted a pedestrian identified as B while telling him to 'properly pull his bicycle.' The victim claimed that he sustained injuries near his eye and damage to some teeth. After receiving the report, police conducted a preliminary investigation at the scene and subsequently released both San E and B. B was also charged with assault due to mutual fighting but was cleared after reaching an agreement with San E's father.
San E's representatives previously stated, 'We have no further comments on this matter, and we apologize.' The rapper debuted in 2010 after being signed by a major entertainment company and has since gained recognition as a producer on the popular audition program Show Me the Money (쇼미더머니).
