Rapper MAMASON Critiques 'Martial Law' Situation on Social Media

On December 5, 2024, rapper MAMASON took to his social media account to express his criticism of the recent 'martial law' situation in South Korea. He posted a photo of President Yoon Suk-yeol and his wife, captioning it with, "I don't know, but I can't stand this." The image included a modified meme that referenced the ongoing crisis.

Earlier, on December 3 at around 11 PM, President Yoon announced the declaration of martial law during an emergency address from the presidential office in Yongsan, Seoul. Following the declaration, access to the National Assembly, located in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo District, was restricted.

However, on December 4 at approximately 1:02 AM, the National Assembly unanimously passed a resolution demanding the repeal of the martial law, with all 190 present members voting in favor. Just three hours later, at 4:28 AM, President Yoon addressed the nation again, stating that he would lift the martial law. The subsequent Cabinet meeting resulted in the official repeal of the martial law.
