Rain (비) Pays Tribute to Late Taiwanese Actress and Singer's Wife During Concert

During his concert in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, on February 15, 2025, singer and actor Rain (정지훈) took a moment to honor the late Taiwanese actress and singer, 서희원 (Shiu Shih-Yuan), who recently passed away. Rain was performing as part of his 'Still Rainin' Asia Tour' when he expressed his condolences for the loss of 구준엽 (Koo Jun-Yup), a respected figure in K-pop and the husband of the deceased.

As the concert neared its conclusion, Rain addressed the audience, stating, 'My beloved senior, Koo Jun-Yup, is a respected person in K-pop. We are all saddened by his pain. The deceased is my sister-in-law. Although I have never met her, I am here as a junior to Koo Jun-Yup and wish to pay my respects. Please join me in a moment of silence for ten seconds.'

He continued, 'Though I cannot see her, I want to pray from afar. Please support and cheer for Koo Jun-Yup. He is the best senior, honest, and kind. Thank you all very much.'

서희원 passed away on February 2, 2025, during a family trip to Japan due to pneumonia and sepsis caused by the flu. According to local media, she was laid to rest on February 14, with Koo Jun-Yup and family members present to bid her farewell.

The couple first met in 1998 and dated for a year before parting ways. 서희원 later married Chinese businessman 왕소비 (Wang So-Bi) in 2011, with whom she had two children, but they divorced in 2021. After more than two decades apart, she and Koo Jun-Yup reunited and officially married in 2022.
