Promis9 Members Sign Exclusive Contracts with New Agency Ascend

Members of the K-pop group Promis9, including 송하영 (Song Ha-young), 박지원 (Park Ji-won), 이나경 (Lee Na-kyung), 이채영 (Lee Chae-young), and 백지헌 (Baek Ji-heon), have officially signed exclusive contracts with the newly established agency, Ascend.

On January 26, Ascend announced, "We are pleased to confirm that these five artists have joined our agency."

Promis9 originally debuted as a nine-member group in 2018 after being formed through the Mnet idol audition program, 'Idol School.' However, following 장규리 (Jang Gyu-ri)'s transition to acting in 2022, the group restructured to eight members. After their contract with their former agency, Pledis Entertainment, ended in December 2024, the members began exploring new opportunities.

As a result, 송하영, 박지원, 이나경, 이채영, and 백지헌 have decided to continue their careers together under Ascend, while the remaining members 이서연 (Lee Seo-yeon), 이새롬 (Lee Sae-rom), and 노지선 (Noh Ji-sun) will pursue individual paths. This development increases the likelihood of Promis9 continuing as a five-member group.

The use of the group name is still under discussion with their previous agency. Ascend stated, "We are currently negotiating the use of the group name and are preparing for diverse and meaningful activities in 2025."

They expressed gratitude towards the artists for their courage in choosing to continue as a team, promising unwavering support to help them achieve their dreams.

Ascend also conveyed their hopes that the stages and music created by the artists will provide fans with deep emotional experiences and cherished memories. They hinted at upcoming album activities showcasing the artists' musical passion and growth, as well as plans for solo concerts with fans.

Promis9 made waves in the K-pop scene last year, winning four music show awards with their third single title track 'Super Sonic' and achieving their first entry into the Melon Top 100 chart.
