Professor Seo Kyung-duk Collaborates with Park Na-rae to Promote Dokdo's Unique Wildlife

Professor Seo Kyung-duk from Sungshin Women's University, known as a 'Dokdo Guardian,' has teamed up with broadcaster Park Na-rae to release a multilingual video showcasing the representative wildlife of Dokdo, including the black-tailed gull and Dokdo shrimp.

This four-minute video was produced in collaboration with the Gyeongbuk Cultural Foundation's Content Promotion Agency and is available in both Korean and English, reaching audiences both domestically and internationally.

The video highlights the black-tailed gull, a symbol of Dokdo, and the Dokdo shrimp, which gained attention during a dinner hosted for former U.S. President Donald Trump during his visit to South Korea in 2017.

Additionally, it discusses the discovery of a new microorganism in Dokdo in 2004, which was named after the island and has been the subject of research aboard the International Space Station.

Professor Seo stated, "This is the third video in our series, following those on the sea lion and the Sapsaree dog, and I aim to widely promote the representative wildlife of Dokdo both at home and abroad."

He emphasized that the video is being shared not only on YouTube but also across various social media platforms, and is being disseminated within major Korean and international student communities worldwide.

Park Na-rae, who provided the Korean narration, expressed her excitement about introducing the black-tailed gull and Dokdo shrimp, hoping that many viewers will watch the video.

In addition, Professor Seo, who serves as the promotional ambassador for Gyeongbuk Province's Dokdo cultural industry content, plans to release an animation about the Dokdo sea lion next year.
