Production Team of '나는 솔로' Addresses Arrest of Cast Member Amid Sexual Assault Allegations

The production team of the ENA and SBS Plus reality show '나는 솔로' (I Am Solo) has issued a statement regarding the arrest of a cast member on charges of sexual assault. The individual in question, identified as Park, a participant from the show's 25th season, has raised suspicions after suddenly making his social media account private.

On June 24, the production company, Choonjang Entertainment, confirmed that an investigation is underway concerning the cast member. They acknowledged the seriousness of the situation and assured viewers that measures would be taken to ensure no discomfort during the broadcast.

In an official apology posted on their social media, the team expressed regret for causing concern among fans, stating, "We learned about the issuance of an arrest warrant for cast member Park through news reports on the morning of June 24."

The production team committed to editing and removing the controversial cast member from previously aired episodes, emphasizing their responsibility in light of the incident. They stated, "Despite our warnings to the cast regarding their conduct, we feel deeply responsible for this occurrence. We will enforce strict management to ensure that cast members adhere to their contractual obligations. We will approach the production of the program with caution to repay the love and interest of our viewers."

Earlier that day, Yonhap News reported that the Mapo Police Station in Seoul had arrested a man in his 30s, identified as Park, on charges of attempted rape. The incident allegedly occurred in a parking lot in the Seogyo-dong area of Mapo at around 3:30 AM on June 21. Following his arrest, police applied for an arrest warrant, which was granted by the court the previous night.

Park has been a recurring participant on both '나는 솔로' and its follow-up series '나는 솔로, 그 후 사랑은 계속된다' (I Am Solo, and Then Love Continues), which has shocked fans.

Speculation about the identity of the cast member arrested has circulated online, with many suggesting that it is indeed the 25th season participant, Youngcheol, due to the shared surname 'Park' and his involvement in both shows. Youngcheol, who did not form a final couple in the recently concluded 25th season, has been appearing in special episodes of '나는 솔로, 그 후 사랑은 계속된다' since last month.

Adding to the intrigue, he recently switched his social media account to private, further fueling the speculation. With the production team promising to edit out the problematic cast member, viewers are keenly awaiting the next episode of '나는 솔로, 그 후 사랑은 계속된다' airing on June 26.
