President Lee Jae-myung's Son to Marry in Private Ceremony

On June 14, Lee Jae-myung (이재명), the President of South Korea, and his wife Kim Hye-kyung (김혜경) will attend the wedding of their eldest son, Dong-ho (동호), at a venue in Seoul. The presidential office has announced that the ceremony will be a family event, attended by close relatives and friends.

The wedding will be held privately, with no floral tributes accepted. Only family and close acquaintances have been invited, although it is expected that some members of the ruling Democratic Party will also attend.

Ahead of the wedding, a mobile invitation believed to be associated with Dong-ho surfaced online, lacking photos of the couple but including a section for guests to confirm their attendance.

Concerns have arisen regarding the mobile invitation, which reportedly contained a bank account number for monetary gifts. Kim Ki-hyun (김기현), a member of the opposition People Power Party, expressed his worries, stating, "The mobile invitation includes a bank account number in the name of the president's son, allowing anyone to send wedding gifts. I trust that the president did not instruct anyone to send out such invitations or solicit gifts. The presidential office should investigate this matter immediately and take corrective action if the invitation is found to be fake."

In light of the upcoming wedding, the presidential security service is implementing security measures around the venue. On June 11, police in Seongbuk, Seoul, arrested a man in his 50s who had posted threats against the president's family online. The suspect reportedly admitted to writing the post but claimed he had no intention of carrying out any threats.
