President Lee Jae-myung Expresses Concern After Staff Member Collapses from Overwork

On June 11, President Lee Jae-myung attended a meeting at the Korea Exchange in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, aimed at eradicating unfair trading practices in the stock market. During this event, he addressed the recent incident where a staff member from the presidential office collapsed due to overwork and was subsequently transported to a hospital.
In a heartfelt message shared on his Facebook, President Lee expressed his sorrow and a sense of heavy responsibility regarding the situation. He stated, "I just learned that a staff member collapsed from overwork. Please focus solely on recovering your health and do not worry about your duties."
He emphasized the importance of health and safety, saying, "While our mission as public servants is significant, your well-being is paramount. I earnestly urge you to take care of yourselves first. The president cannot achieve results alone; it requires the collective effort and cooperation of all public officials to create a better future for our citizens."
President Lee also extended his gratitude to all public officials who diligently fulfill their responsibilities, stating, "I sincerely thank the staff at the presidential office and all officials from various ministries for their hard work and dedication. I respect your efforts and commitment."
In a show of support, Chief of Staff Kang Hoon-sik visited the hospital on the evening of June 11 to comfort the staff member and encourage her to focus on her recovery. According to the presidential office, the staff member, identified as a woman in her 40s, lost consciousness while working on a report around 9 PM. Emergency services responded to a 119 call and transported her to a nearby hospital, where she has since regained consciousness.
