Police Special Investigation Unit Conducts Search at Presidential Office

On the morning of December 11, 2024, the Police Special Investigation Unit, which is probing the 'December 3 Emergency Martial Law Incident,' executed a search warrant at the Presidential Office in Yongsan, Seoul. Investigators are currently gathering materials related to the emergency martial law. Additionally, personnel from the National Police Agency, Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, and the National Assembly Security Service are also involved in the search operations.

Earlier that day, Police Chief Jo Ji-ho and Seoul Police Chief Kim Bong-sik were urgently arrested on charges of insurrection. The police plan to focus on using the materials obtained from the Presidential Office search to substantiate allegations of insurrection against President Yoon Suk-yeol.
