Police Officers Injured in Domestic Violence Incident in Paju

On May 22, 2025, two police officers were injured while responding to a domestic violence report in an apartment located in the Unjeong district of Paju, South Korea. The incident occurred around 9:50 PM when the officers were attacked with a knife by the husband involved in the domestic dispute. Both officers sustained injuries to their arms and neck and were urgently transported to a hospital. Fortunately, they are reported to be conscious, although their exact condition remains unconfirmed. The husband was apprehended at the scene but inflicted self-harm immediately after the attack and was also taken to the hospital for serious injuries. A police spokesperson stated that a thorough investigation into the motive and circumstances of the incident is underway.
