Police Officer Dismissed for Driving Under the Influence
A police officer in Mokpo, South Korea, has been dismissed after being caught driving under the influence. According to the Mokpo Police Station, a 30-year-old officer, identified as A, was terminated on May 30 for violating traffic laws related to drunk driving. On May 2, at approximately 8:30 AM, A was driving to work at the Samhak Police Station while still intoxicated from drinking until 3 AM that same day. A fellow officer noticed the smell of alcohol and reported the incident, leading to a blood alcohol concentration that warranted license suspension. Given the seriousness of the situation, the Mokpo Police immediately suspended A from duty and subsequently held a disciplinary committee that resulted in the dismissal.
