Police Issue Wanted Notice for Suspect in Stabbing Incident in Siheung

Authorities in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, have launched a public manhunt for a 57-year-old Chinese national, Cha Cheol-nam (차철남), in connection with a violent stabbing incident that left two people dead and two others injured. The Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency announced on May 19 that Cha is suspected of attacking individuals with a knife near his residence in Jeongwang-dong, Siheung.
On the day of the incident, Cha allegedly stabbed a 70-year-old landlord, referred to as A, and a 60-year-old female convenience store owner, referred to as B, before fleeing the scene. He is also accused of murdering two additional victims at his home. Both A and B are currently receiving medical treatment in a hospital.
Cha, born on November 14, 1968, is described as approximately 170 cm tall with an average build. At the time of his escape, he was wearing a black jacket and white athletic shoes. Police reported that he fled on a bicycle while wearing black gloves and a white mask. They are offering a reward for any information leading to his capture, with the identity of the informant kept confidential.
