Police Investigate Child Abuse Case Involving 5-Month-Old Infant

Incheon police have launched an investigation into suspected child abuse involving a 5-month-old boy, identified as A. On April 4, around 12:30 AM, medical staff at a hospital in Seoul reported concerns of child abuse to the authorities. Upon examination, A was found to have multiple bruises and a broken rib, along with signs of a brain hemorrhage. He is currently receiving treatment in the hospital. The boy's parents, who brought him to the emergency room, reportedly claimed that they had 'shaken' him, denying any allegations of abuse. The police have charged the parents under the Child Welfare Act and are set to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. The Incheon police department is handling the case, taking into account the parents' residence and their age in their 20s. A police official stated, 'We have charged the parents with child abuse and plan to summon them for questioning soon.'
