PlayB's New Mini Album Tops Melon Charts

The virtual idol group PlayB has achieved a remarkable feat with their latest mini album, 'Caligo Pt.1 (칼리고 Pt.1)', which was released on February 3 at 6 PM KST across various music platforms. Following its release, the music video, produced on a blockbuster scale, has garnered significant attention. Fans eagerly streaming the album propelled the title track 'Dash (대쉬)' to the top of the Melon TOP100 chart on the very day of its release.

In addition to the title track, the album features four other songs: 'RIZZ', 'Chroma Drift', '12:32 (A to T)', and 'Island', all of which achieved a remarkable ranking from 1 to 5 on the TOP100 chart. Within just 2 hours and 20 minutes of its release, the album surpassed 1 million streams on Melon, marking the second-fastest record in history and showcasing the group's explosive popularity.

On the same day, a comeback live broadcast on their official YouTube channel attracted a peak of 43,000 simultaneous viewers, signaling a strong start for their new music activities.

Previously, PlayB's digital single 'Pump Up The Volume!' released in August also topped the Melon HOT100 and TOP100 charts on its release day and secured the number one spot on terrestrial music broadcasts. The group has achieved a cumulative streaming total of 1 billion across all their released songs, earning them a place in Melon's 'Billions Club' with the fastest record ever.

'Caligo Pt.1' marks PlayB's first new release in over five months since 'Pump Up The Volume!' and represents a deeper exploration of their unique world view, following the introductory 'ASTERUM Trilogy'. The album consists of five tracks spanning various genres, including rock, hip-hop, R&B, ballad, and city pop, with members actively involved in songwriting, composing, choreography, and production, further establishing their identity as a self-produced idol group.
