Participant from 'Baek Jong-won's Alley Restaurant' Opens Up About Struggles with Online Hate

In the premiere episode of MBN's 'Oh Eun-young Stay,' which aired on June 23, 2025, a participant known as 'One Table' shared their painful experiences with online bullying after appearing on the show 'Baek Jong-won's Alley Restaurant.'

During the episode, eight participants gathered to discuss their various worries and concerns. 'One Table' revealed that they had participated in a program aimed at revitalizing local businesses but felt misrepresented, leading to an onslaught of harsh comments online. They recounted receiving messages filled with vitriol, including phrases like, 'Shut up, you clueless person,' and 'I can't believe you would want to live like this.'

The emotional toll was significant, and 'One Table' eventually had to close their business. They expressed a desire to clarify their situation but refrained, fearing it would only attract more attention. They described feeling suffocated by the collective judgment of many, leading to isolation and the end of a four-year relationship. 'One Table' shared that their boyfriend quickly moved on to marry someone else, compounding their feelings of loss.

Struggling with loneliness, they turned to alcohol and spent a year in solitude, listening to music. They described the experience as heart-wrenching, feeling unable to communicate their pain to others. 'I want to live brightly, but admitting my struggles felt like it would break me,' they said, shedding tears.

Psychiatrist Oh Eun-young analyzed the situation, noting that such experiences can lead to a deep mistrust of the world and oneself. 'One Table' resonated with her insights, admitting that their inability to express emotions led to explosive reactions.

Oh Eun-young emphasized the importance of not engaging with negative comments, stating, 'Their words are neither helpful nor necessary.' She encouraged 'One Table' to reconnect with their true self, advising them to reflect on who they are at their core.
