Park Shin-yang's 'Three Days' Achieves Global Sales in 54 Countries Ahead of Release

The occult horror film 'Three Days' (사흘), directed by Hyun Moon-seop and produced by iFilm Corporation, has made headlines by securing sales in 54 countries worldwide, confirming its release in several key markets.
'Three Days' has achieved remarkable success, surpassing previous films like 'Rang Zong' (랑종), which sold in 50 countries, and 'Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum' (곤지암), which sold in 47 countries. The film is set to premiere in Taiwan on November 22, followed by releases in North America and Indonesia on December 6, and in Vietnam on December 13. With its unique storyline that blends Korea's traditional funeral culture with Western Catholic occult themes, 'Three Days' is poised to open a new chapter in the occult horror genre, drawing significant attention for its global box office potential.
The film's international distributors have reported enthusiastic responses, underscoring its appeal. Well Go USA, the North American distributor, described 'Three Days' as a chilling warning about how humanity's morality, reason, and even reality can be threatened when faced with the worst fears, enhanced by the presence of ancient demons in a traditional exorcism narrative. They noted that American audiences continue to show a strong interest in innovative and exceptional Korean horror films.
In Taiwan, distributor Movie Cloud expressed that 'Three Days' offers a highly intriguing concept that will provide a fresh experience for local viewers. Meanwhile, Lotte Vietnam Entertainment, responsible for the film's distribution in Vietnam, praised its captivating concept and visuals, stating that the film's mysterious atmosphere and supernatural horror elements make it stand out.
Japanese distributor The Klockworx highlighted that the film captures the energy of the most notable occult horror films currently emerging from Korea. Indonesian distributor Prima Cinema remarked that 'Three Days' shares a similar charm with 'The Queen of Black Magic' (파묘), indicating its potential in the Indonesian market and raising expectations for its success in Southeast Asia.
In response to the global interest, Showbox's international team noted that 'Three Days' has been introduced as a Korean-style occult film following 'The Queen of Black Magic,' generating excitement among buyers worldwide even before its release. Most of the distribution rights were secured at the Busan Asian Content Film Market, with preparations underway for its December releases in Southeast Asia and North America.
The film revolves around a three-day funeral during which an exorcism is performed to prevent a malevolent force from awakening in the heart of a deceased daughter. Starring Park Shin-yang, Lee Min-ki, and Lee Rae, 'Three Days' marks the directorial debut of Hyun Moon-seop.
