Park Seo-jin's Emotional Moment at KBS Entertainment Awards

In the latest episode of KBS 2TV's reality show, Salim Nam 2 (살림하는 남자들 시즌2), Park Seo-jin experienced a heartfelt moment after winning the Rookie of the Year award at the 2024 KBS Entertainment Awards. Throughout the filming of Salim Nam, he had expressed his hopes for this recognition by singing and celebrating with his castmates. On the day of the awards, his sister, Hyo-jung, made a special trip to KBS from Samcheok to support him, bringing traditional rice cakes prepared by their mother as a good luck charm.

Just ten hours before the ceremony, Hyo-jung arrived at KBS with her hands full of goodies. She explained that their mother had planned the rice cakes a week in advance, and she was there to deliver them along with a message of encouragement. However, Park Seo-jin was skeptical of her intentions, jokingly questioning if she was trying to gain favor with influential people by delivering the treats.

Despite his teasing, Hyo-jung remained optimistic, suggesting that if Salim Nam continued to do well, they might even aim for a grand prize next year. This comment made Park Seo-jin smile, and he playfully agreed to consider it.

Hyo-jung then took on the role of promoting her brother, meeting with the head of the entertainment center to present the rice cakes and advocate for a potential third season of Salim Nam. Although the center head was noncommittal, he offered sincere advice, encouraging Park Seo-jin to be more assertive in expressing himself.

Before the awards began, the siblings chatted with the show's MCs, Baek Ji-young and Eun Ji-won. Baek Ji-young, who has shown affection for Hyo-jung, asked if she thought her brother would win the Rookie of the Year award. Hyo-jung expressed her confidence, citing Park Seo-jin's year-long participation in Salim Nam.

Baek Ji-young playfully suggested that if Park Seo-jin won, he should kiss his sister as a promise, which he reluctantly accepted. They also joked about the amount of money he should give her if he won, with Hyo-jung asking if she should provide her bank account number for a 200,000 won allowance. Baek Ji-young quipped that the amount was modest, suggesting he should buy her a small car instead.

Finally, at the 2024 KBS Entertainment Awards, Park Seo-jin triumphed over fellow cast member Park Young-kyu to win the Reality Rookie of the Year award. Overwhelmed with emotion, he expressed his gratitude, admitting he hadn’t expected to win and was thrilled to receive the award in a place he had only seen on television. However, he forgot to mention his family during his speech, which weighed on his mind.

Immediately after the ceremony, he video-called his parents to apologize for not mentioning them, assuring them that good things were ahead and encouraging them to stay happy. After the awards concluded, he fulfilled his promise by kissing Hyo-jung in front of the Salim Nam cast, earning applause from everyone present.
