Singer Park Seo-jin has triumphed at the 2024 KBS Entertainment Awards, winning the Rookie of the Year award despite facing controversies surrounding military exemption and allegations of abuse of power.
On the afternoon of December 21, 2024, Park Seo-jin was awarded the Rookie of the Year in the reality category for his participation in KBS 2TV's 'Salim Nam' (살림하는 남자들 시즌2), alongside nominees Nam Yoon-soo, Park Young-kyu, Lee Sang-woo, and Lee Soon-sil. The prestigious award, which can only be received once in a lifetime, was shared between Park Seo-jin and Lee Sang-woo. Upon hearing his name announced, Park Seo-jin was visibly surprised and received congratulations from his fellow cast members Eun Ji-won, Park Young-kyu, Lee Min-woo, and Baek Ji-young as he took the stage. His fans, known as 'Dahbyeol', filled the venue with their cheers.
In his acceptance speech, Park Seo-jin expressed his gratitude, stating, "Thank you. He also took the opportunity to promote 'Salim Nam' for the Best Program award, showcasing his dedication to the show.
Park Seo-jin joined 'Salim Nam' in January 2024 and quickly became a key figure, driving up the show's ratings with his genuine personality that resonated with viewers. He showcased his multifaceted charm through various episodes, particularly highlighting his sibling chemistry with his sister Park Hyo-jung, which led to memorable moments and heartfelt support from the audience.
