Park Seo-jin Takes a Bold Step on 'Current King of Masked Singer 2'

In a striking move, Park Seo-jin performed without his traditional 장구 (janggu) during the latest episode of MBN's 'Current King of Masked Singer 2', which aired on January 21, 2025. This episode featured the second round of the third preliminary match, titled 'Flip the Script'. Previously, Park had received feedback that his performances were overshadowed by his janggu playing, leading him to express concerns about not being evaluated fairly for his singing. He stated, 'I feel like my singing hasn't been properly assessed because of the janggu.'

Determined to showcase his vocal talent, Park declared, 'I want to hear people say, 'Wow, he can sing well even without the janggu.' He chose to perform 'Do You Know the Flower Suni?' by Kim Guk-hwan, infusing the stage with his unique emotional interpretation.

Lyn praised his performance, noting, 'He seems to understand what kind of songs people want to hear. He knows what suits him well.' Similarly, Joo Hyun-mi commented on the unexpected nature of his performance, saying, 'I thought he would go for a flashy performance, but this felt like a direct challenge, a 'Listen to my song' moment.
