Park Seo-jin Opens Up About Family Struggles After TV Appearance on 'Salim Nam'

Singer Park Seo-jin shared the challenges his family has faced since their appearance on the KBS 2TV show 'Salim Nam' (살림하는 남자들). In the episode aired on November 23, Park Seo-jin traveled to Ganghwa Island with his younger sister Park Hyo-jung, singer Lim Joo-ri, and her son Jae-ha.

During their visit to the Bomun Temple, the group made wishes, with Jae-ha expressing his hopes for his mother’s health and for Park Seo-jin and Hyo-jung to succeed. Park Seo-jin humorously mentioned wishing for a rookie award, but he also genuinely hoped for Jae-ha's success, creating a warm atmosphere.

When Jae-ha asked Park Seo-jin if he had faced any difficulties this year, Park Seo-jin took a moment before revealing, "After appearing on the show, I encountered some challenges. I’m fine, but my family are regular people. They have been experiencing hardships as well." He expressed regret, stating, "Some people say my family is just out there begging for attention, and there have been instances where individuals came to our store and insulted them to their faces. I feel sorry for my family."

Park Seo-jin's sister, Park Hyo-jung, admitted that she had considered whether to continue appearing on the show after reading negative comments. Fellow cast member Han Geu-rae empathized, saying, "I understand that feeling. While I can brush off bad comments about myself, it’s really upsetting when they target my children." Park Seo-jin added, "So now, I try not to read negative comments. It was tough in the beginning."

The episode highlighted the emotional toll that public scrutiny can take on the families of celebrities, shedding light on the often unseen struggles they endure.
