Park Myung-soo Calls for Presidential Help on Hair Loss Issue
During a recent broadcast of KBS Radio's 'Park Myung-soo's Radio Show' on June 11, popular broadcaster Park Myung-soo humorously requested the President to address the issue of hair loss. The request came after a listener shared their family's struggles with baldness, mentioning that multiple generations, including the father-in-law, husband, and even a son in his 30s, all wear wigs. The listener expressed surprise at the sight of wigs drying in the bathroom after family outings.
Park Myung-soo responded, questioning why, in an age of advanced artificial intelligence, there hasn't been a development for hair regrowth. He noted that with around 10 million people suffering from hair loss, a solution could be highly profitable. He expressed hope for more research in this area, stating, 'Isn't this something the President should solve? If this issue is addressed, it would be a huge deal.' He later clarified that his comments were made in jest.
Previously, during the 20th presidential election, President Lee Jae-myung had promised to expand health insurance coverage for hair loss treatments and hair transplants, gaining attention with the slogan, 'Voting for Lee Jae-myung is like planting a seed.' He emphasized the urgency of hair loss treatment, stating, 'For those who have not experienced it, the desperation is hard to understand. The anxiety, social withdrawal, and relationship issues faced by those with hair loss are directly linked to their quality of life and cannot be dismissed as a personal issue.' However, the Democratic Party has indicated that while they are considering hair loss treatment promises for the upcoming election, no concrete proposals have emerged yet.
