Park Myung-hoon Transforms into Eerie Shaman in 'Only God Knows Everything'

The mystery thriller film 'Only God Knows Everything' (온리 갓 노우즈 에브리띵), directed by Baek Seung-hwan, is set to hit theaters on August 22. Ahead of its release, stills showcasing Park Myung-hoon's (박명훈) remarkable transformation into a bizarre shaman named Shim Kwang-woon have been unveiled, highlighting his captivating presence.

Park Myung-hoon made his film debut in 'Sanda' (산다) directed by Park Jung-bum and gained significant attention for his role as the character Geun-se in Bong Joon-ho's (봉준호) acclaimed film 'Parasite' (기생충). Since then, he has built an impressive filmography with roles in various films such as 'Deliver Us from Evil' (다만 악에서 구하소서), 'Voice' (보이스), 'Winter Night' (겨울밤에), 'My Sassy Girl' (싸나희 순정), 'Bloodhounds' (경관의 피), 'Limit' (리미트), 'The Owl' (올빼미), 'Noryang: Sea of Death' (노량: 죽음의 바다), and 'One Win' (1승). He has also made his mark in television and OTT platforms, appearing in popular series like 'Crash Landing on You' (사랑의 불시착), Netflix's 'Money Heist: Korea' (종이의 집: 공동경제구역), Coupang Play's 'Bait' (미끼), and Netflix's 'Hunting' (탄금).

In 'Only God Knows Everything', Park takes on the role of the unsettling and violent shaman Shim Kwang-woon, a character that significantly enhances the film's genre appeal. Throughout the film, Shim Kwang-woon is intricately linked to the mysterious disappearance of the mother of Father Jeong Do-woon, played by Shin Seung-ho (신승호), as well as other puzzling missing persons cases, all tied to a cult-like religion.

Park Myung-hoon fully immerses himself in the eerie atmosphere of his character, delivering a chilling performance that includes intense confrontations with Shin Seung-ho and a tense police interrogation scene with Han Ji-eun (한지은), who plays Yoon Joo-young.

Director Baek Seung-hwan expressed his admiration for Park, stating that from the moment he received the script for 'Only God Knows Everything', he envisioned Park as the top choice for the role of Shim Kwang-woon. He also mentioned wanting to continue a long and enjoyable collaboration with the actor.

To embody the unsettling shaman character, Park Myung-hoon collaborated closely with Baek Seung-hwan on various aspects, including hairstyle, makeup, and even gaining 10 kg to fully realize the character. The recently released stills of Shim Kwang-woon showcase Park's unique aura and transformation, heightening anticipation for his performance.

'Only God Knows Everything' tells the story of a priest who, after receiving his ordination, grapples with the death of his missing mother while uncovering hidden secrets amidst a dilemma between revenge and faith. The film features a talented cast including Shin Seung-ho, Park Myung-hoon, Han Ji-eun, and Jeon So-min (전소민), and is directed by Baek Seung-hwan, known for 'Big Mama's Crazy Bongo' (큰엄마의 미친봉고) and 'Double Patty' (더블패티).
