Park Eun-young Announces Second Pregnancy at 44

Former announcer and current broadcaster Park Eun-young has announced her second pregnancy at the age of 44, sharing her miraculous journey with her followers. On July 11, she revealed on her YouTube channel, 'Anamorna Park Eun-young,' that she is 11 weeks pregnant, stating, "I was approaching menopause, but I was able to conceive through IVF." This journey was not without its challenges; after an initial attempt that yielded no eggs and a failed fertilization, she persevered for five months, successfully retrieving eggs and ultimately securing nine embryos before achieving a successful implantation.

Park Eun-young also candidly shared her experience with morning sickness, saying, "I feel nauseous and bloated. This pregnancy is much harder on my body than the first one." While many were surprised by her pregnancy news, her desire for children has been a long-standing aspiration.

In a 2021 episode of MBC's 'Radio Star,' she recounted a bold conversation with her husband before marriage, revealing, "My husband initially had no intention of getting married. Early in our relationship, I told him, 'If you don't want to get married, let me know quickly, or at least give me your sperm.'" At that time, nearing 40, she felt a sense of urgency, expressing, "As I approached 40, I was really anxious. If marriage was difficult, I thought, at least let’s have a baby."

In another interview, she explained her determination to have children before getting older, saying, "When my husband was starting his business and said he wasn't thinking about marriage, I wanted to have a child before I got any older. I felt he was the one, so I pushed for it."

Park Eun-young married Kim Hyung-woo, a CEO of an IT company, in 2019 when she was 38, and welcomed their first son, Beom-jun, later that year. Although she had dreams of expanding her family, the path was fraught with difficulties. Last year, she underwent ovarian age testing to explore natural conception possibilities, only to face setbacks with the discovery of uterine polyps and declining ovarian function. At one point, she expressed her despair, saying, "Should I just be satisfied with raising one child?" Despite her husband’s initial opposition to having a second child, she managed to convince him.

Ultimately, Park Eun-young held onto hope and, through IVF, is now expecting her second child. This outcome is particularly precious given her long-standing desire for another baby.
