Park Chan-dae and Jeong Cheong-rae to Present Their Platforms at National Democratic Party Conference

On June 29, at the national conference hosted by the Democratic Party's largest pro-Lee organization, the 'Democratic National Innovation Committee,' lawmakers Park Chan-dae and Jeong Cheong-rae, who are both running for party leader, will present their platforms. This will mark the first time the two candidates share the stage since announcing their candidacies.

According to the Innovation Committee, the conference will take place at the Osco Grand Ballroom in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do, where a new leadership team will be established, including new co-chairs Lee Kwang-hee, Kim Gi-pyo, and Kim Moon-soo. Additionally, two outside figures, including Yoo Dong-cheol, the Democratic Party's Busan Suyeong District Chair, and former Daejeon Mayor Heo Tae-jeong, will be elected to the delegation, bringing the total to five members.

Both Park and Jeong have been invited to share their visions for the party, each allotted five minutes for their presentations, which will also be streamed live on YouTube. Given that this party leadership election is seen as a 'mindset' competition, the keywords in their presentations are expected to draw significant attention.

During a recent address at the National Assembly on June 26, President Lee Jae-myung pointed to both lawmakers, encouraging them to shake hands, and playfully placed his hands over theirs while lightly tapping their arms, smiling.

Afterward, Park commented to reporters that he believed the gesture was meant to signify a friendly competition between them. Jeong, on his Facebook, interpreted it as a call to avoid division and to conduct a celebratory party convention.
