Park Bo-young Discusses Her Third Role as a Nurse in 'Lighting Store' at Disney Showcase

On November 20, 2024, actress Park Bo-young shared her thoughts on reprising her role as a nurse in the upcoming series 'Lighting Store' (조명가게) during a press conference held at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore. The event featured a preview of the Disney+ original series, which is based on the webtoon by Kang Full, known for his previous hit 'Moving'.
'Lighting Store' tells the story of a mysterious shop that illuminates the dark corners of the city, where customers with hidden secrets come to seek help. Park Bo-young plays the character 'Young-ji', a nurse in the intensive care unit, bringing warmth and positivity to the series.
This marks Park Bo-young's third portrayal of a nurse, following her roles in the drama 'Morning Comes to Psychiatric Wards' and the film 'Concrete Utopia'. She expressed, "While it’s my third time playing a nurse, I didn’t feel too much pressure. The genres are very different, and the medical expertise required for each role varies significantly. Although the profession is the same, the characters are distinct, so I believe viewers will find it refreshing. I acted with that confidence."
She also mentioned that she and co-star Ju Ji-hoon did not have the opportunity to meet on set, as their filming schedules were separate. "I was really looking forward to working with him, but unfortunately, we didn’t cross paths this time. I hope we can collaborate in the future," she added.
In closing, Park Bo-young noted that while only she and Ju Ji-hoon attended the event, she felt that the chemistry among the entire cast was strong and harmonious. "I play a guardian at the boundary between life and death, and I think the overall harmony on screen is quite impressive," she stated confidently.
'Lighting Store' is set to premiere on Disney+ on December 4, 2024.
