ONEUS Shares Excitement for Special Album 'Dear.M'

K-pop group ONEUS expressed their excitement for their special album 'Dear.M' during a release celebration interview held at a café in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul on January 14, 2025. The album, set to drop at 6 PM KST, is a heartfelt gift for their dedicated fandom, TO MOON, showcasing the group's musical journey and growth.

As they embark on their first comeback of 2025, the members reflected on their recent sixth anniversary, stating, 'We wanted to return the love and support we've received from our fans. Participating in Mnet's 'Road to Kingdom 2' was made possible by their encouragement, and we wanted to create an album that allows us to show them what we can do.' They noted that the title track 'IKUK' was a fan favorite during the final competition but had not been performed live until now.

The album features 17 tracks, including the title song 'IKUK', new songs like 'We Are Young', 'DEVILISH LOVE', and 'W', as well as the fan song 'Rupert's Drop'. Notably, members Lee Do and Hwan Woong contributed to the lyrics of 'We Are Young', while Seo Ho penned the fan song.

In re-recording their past title tracks, the group redistributed parts previously sung by former member Raven, allowing the five remaining members to showcase their voices together. Gun Hee shared, 'We felt it was important to give our fans a complete experience of the songs they love. We wanted to create a gift for them.'

Hwan Woong added, 'Listening to the re-recorded tracks, I realized how much our voices have matured. It was a meaningful experience to capture the essence of our earlier work while infusing it with our current sound.'

The title track 'IKUK' is a rearranged version of 'I KNOW YOU KNOW', which ONEUS performed during the final live competition of 'Road to Kingdom: ACE OF ACE'. The song features a funky, groovy sound paired with captivating vocals, depicting the irresistible allure of a vampire.

Gun Hee explained the vampire lord concept, saying, 'We've explored many concepts and genres over the years. Initially, we wondered what our unique color was, but now we feel that we have become our own identity. We aim to be a versatile group that can showcase a wide spectrum of artistry.'

He continued, 'The vampire concept was well-received by fans, and we wanted to meet their expectations by revisiting it after three years. Just like wine matures with time, we hope to present a more sophisticated version of the vampire theme. We believe the song and performance are of high quality, and we are excited to share it with everyone.'

Hwan Woong concluded, 'Our attitude towards the stage has changed significantly. Previously, we focused on the intensity of the vampire concept, but now we emphasize expression through our faces and lyrics. We feel we've improved visually as well.'
