Oh Jung-yeon Opens Up About Egg Freezing Journey on Solo's Life

On the December 17 episode of SBS Plus's Solo's Life (솔로라서), Oh Jung-yeon shared her reasons for undergoing egg freezing. The segment depicted her visit to a gynecologist, where she revealed her concerns about remaining single and the possibility of losing hope for motherhood. Having joined KBS as an announcer in 2006 and marrying former basketball player Seo Jang-hoon in 2009, she divorced in 2021.
Oh Jung-yeon explained that she first sought help from a fertility clinic at the age of 39, feeling the urgency to prepare before menopause. She mentioned that her first egg freezing procedure took place in November 2022, resulting in nine eggs, followed by two more procedures in December 2023, bringing her total to 22 eggs.
During her fourth attempt at egg freezing, she reflected on a friend's experience, noting that Lady Jane had only two viable eggs from twenty frozen, leading her to wish she had frozen more. A specialist advised her that egg quality begins to decline after age 35, and at 41, her ovarian age is 39.
After receiving advice to engage in walking instead of intense workouts, Oh Jung-yeon was seen preparing to administer her own ovulation induction injection. Despite her brave demeanor, she admitted feeling a bit lonely, as typically, a husband would assist with such tasks. Her friend Chae-rim humorously noted that she still dreams of having a partner to help her.
Solo's Life (솔로라서) is a reality show that candidly explores the lives of charming singles who experience both loneliness and happiness, airing every Tuesday at 8:40 PM.
