Oh Jung-yeon Expresses Desire for Children on 'Solo' and Takes Self-Administered Ovulation Injection

On the December 17 episode of SBS Plus's '솔로라서' (Solo), Oh Jung-yeon opened up about her hopes for having children. Previously, she had shown interest in remarriage and starting a family through her YouTube channel, questioning her fate with the inquiry, "Will I have children?" To seek answers, she consulted a shaman, who indicated that while it is possible, her heart seems unclear. When she expressed her wish to have a daughter, the shaman humorously advised her to wait until after marriage to discuss such matters. Regarding her prospects for marriage, the shaman reassured her that there are opportunities, stating, "There is always a chance for a man; it depends on how you approach it."

During her visit to a fertility clinic, Oh Jung-yeon revealed, "I came to freeze my eggs. If I remain single, should I give up on the hope of having children?" This marked her fourth egg freezing procedure. Fortunately, despite being 41 years old, her ovarian age is assessed at 39. The specialist advised her that in vitro fertilization (IVF) is typically viable until age 45, after which the chances decrease. Oh Jung-yeon expressed concern, saying, "I have four years left; I might need to use my eggs next year."

Following the doctor's recommendation to engage in walking exercises instead of intense workouts, she returned home with her ovulation injection. In a poignant moment, she self-administered the injection, sharing, "Usually, a husband would do this, but honestly, while it’s not heartbreaking, it feels a bit lonely."

In a surprising twist, Oh Jung-yeon took up walking in a unique way by becoming a delivery rider. She explained, "I started this part-time job on the recommendation of friends. I highly recommend it; it’s good for healthy eggs and also provides some pocket money." Her friend Hwang Jung-eum praised her, saying, "Single women like you are living so passionately; Oh Jung-yeon is the best among those I've seen recently."

Oh Jung-yeon began her career as a KBS announcer in 2006 and married former basketball player Seo Jang-hoon in 2009, but they divorced in 2021. Since declaring her independence in 2015, she has been active in various fields.
