Oasis Confirms First Concert in South Korea in 16 Years

The legendary Britpop band Oasis, which dominated the 1990s, has announced its reunion after 15 years of disbandment, and as expected, they will perform in South Korea for the first time in 16 years.

According to concert planning agency Live Nation Korea, Oasis will meet with their Korean fans on October 21, 2025, at 8 PM at the Goyang Sports Complex in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.

Formed in 1991, Oasis released their debut album 'Definitely Maybe' in 1994. The band produced numerous hits, including 'Wonderwall,' 'Don't Look Back in Anger,' and 'Live Forever,' leading the Britpop revival. All seven of their studio albums debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and have sold over 90 million copies worldwide.

Their music, which blends the dynamic rhythms of rock and the melodies of pop, has significantly influenced both contemporary and future bands.

One of their most memorable concerts took place in August 1996 at Knebworth House in Hertfordshire, England, where an astonishing 250,000 fans gathered. Approximately 3.5 million people attempted to purchase tickets, which represented about 4% of the UK population at the time. The 2016 documentary 'Supersonic' opens and closes with this iconic concert. However, by the mid-2000s, tensions between brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher escalated, leading to the band's split.

On August 27, the Gallagher brothers announced their reunion, igniting excitement among music fans worldwide. They will kick off a new world tour starting with concerts in Cardiff, Wales, on July 4-5, 2024. The initial UK and Ireland tour dates saw over 10 million ticket requests from 158 countries, showcasing an explosive response.

The news of Oasis's return has thrilled music fans globally. Their debut album 'Definitely Maybe' was re-released in a special 30th-anniversary edition, reaching number one on the UK Albums Chart. Hits like 'Live Forever' and 'Don't Look Back in Anger' also made it into the UK Singles Chart's top ten. The tour, which includes North American dates in Canada, the U.S., and Mexico, as well as performances in Australia and South America, has sold out all scheduled shows, reflecting their immense popularity.

Oasis previously performed in South Korea in 2006, where they sold out their first concert, and returned in 2009 for both a solo concert and as a festival headliner. They have shown a special affection for their Korean fans, even performing 'Live Forever,' a song rarely featured in their tours.

Noel Gallagher has visited South Korea multiple times with his band Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, where tickets sold out rapidly, leading to additional shows. Recent performances have attracted a youthful audience, with over 70% of attendees being in their teens and twenties.

As the world tour schedule was announced, Korean fans expressed their eager anticipation, and the concert date has finally been confirmed. Oasis shared a message saying, "South Korea, our new best friends. Hold on. Oasis is coming!" to heighten excitement for the upcoming performance.

Tickets for the Oasis concert in South Korea will go on sale exclusively through Interpark Ticket starting at noon on the 29th. A pre-sale for fan club members will take place on the 28th from noon until 11:59 PM.
