North Korean Defector Entrepreneur Earns 700 Million Won Monthly
In a recent episode of MBN's 'Sokpuri Show Dongchimi,' North Korean defector and entrepreneur Lee Soon-sil revealed that she earns an impressive 700 million won a month. Lee shared her journey, stating, 'Making money in South Korea is surprisingly easy.' Reflecting on her life in North Korea, she recounted how she was married off to a friend of her brother, hoping it would prevent her from starving, only to find that her new family was also impoverished. After a tumultuous relationship that led to her leaving her husband while pregnant, she survived for three years in the markets with her child before escaping to China. Lee disclosed that she was repatriated to North Korea eight times over ten years before finally succeeding in her escape. Upon arriving in South Korea, she expressed her gratitude for the simple pleasure of having three meals a day. Initially struggling financially, she worked hard at construction sites, earning about 900,000 won a month, while in North Korea, she had to hide her money in stockings to avoid losing it. It was during this time that she met her husband, who volunteered to teach computer skills to defectors. Lee humorously described him as having a charming voice but an unusual appearance. After just three days of dating, they decided to live together, leading to a humorous encounter with her in-laws. Despite initial opposition from her husband's parents, her father-in-law was moved to tears by her story, and now her mother-in-law cannot imagine life without her. Lee became passionate about saving money and worked various jobs, including in a restaurant. She eventually opened a cold noodle shop, which now generates a staggering 700 million won in monthly revenue, astonishing those around her.
