Nick Moran in Critical Condition Following Spinal Injury
Actor Nick Moran, known for his role in the 'Harry Potter' series, is currently in critical condition after suffering a life-threatening spinal injury. Reports from April 12 indicate that Moran was hospitalized due to spinal cord damage.
According to the Daily Mail, Moran's friend Terry Stone revealed that the actor underwent emergency spinal surgery after experiencing severe neck pain, which was later attributed to the spinal injury. Stone mentioned, "I spoke with a family member who informed me that he sustained an injury to his neck, affecting his spinal cord, speech, and mobility."
Stone further shared that while Moran is in recovery, doctors warned of the shocking possibility that he may never walk or speak again. "His health is not at its best, but I felt relieved that he made it through the surgery," he added.
Surgeons reportedly removed four vertebrae from Moran's neck and replaced them with artificial bones, a procedure complicated by the high density of nerves around the neck and spine, which increases the risk of permanent disability.
"Nick is currently able to speak, which is a positive sign. However, he is moving like a 100-year-old man, wearing a neck brace and resting," Stone noted.
A representative for Moran stated, "Nick underwent emergency spinal surgery a week ago, which carries typical risks associated with such procedures. Everything went well, and he is expected to recover and return home after a brief hospital stay."
Nick Moran appeared in the 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' series and has also featured in films such as 'London Heist', 'The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor', 'The Terminal', 'The Habit of Beauty', 'The Escape', 'Age of Kill', and 'Avengement'.
