NewJeans Wins Triple Awards at the 2024 Asia Artist Awards

NewJeans (민지, 하니, 다니엘, 해린, 혜인) has made history by winning the Grand Prize at the Asia Artist Awards (AAA) for three consecutive years. The group took home three trophies, including 'Artist of the Year,' 'Best Performance,' and 'Best Artist' at the 9th Asia Artist Awards held on December 27 in Bangkok, Thailand.
Since their debut, NewJeans has been a force to be reckoned with at the AAA, winning the Rookie of the Year and the Grand Prize for 'Performance of the Year' in 2022, followed by two Grand Prizes ('Artist of the Year' and 'Song of the Year') in 2023, making them the most awarded artists in the history of the event.
Expressing their gratitude, NewJeans stated, "We feel that the works and music of everyone here have elevated our emotions during tough and joyful times, making those moments truly special. We are thrilled to spend this year-end with such amazing artists. Above all, we sincerely thank our fans, Bunnies, for their love and support. We hope to continue this journey together for a long time."
In addition to their awards, NewJeans captivated the audience with their vibrant and free-spirited performances. Their unique styling, featuring illustrations of the members, drew attention as they showcased their songs 'Bubble Gum,' 'Supernatural,' and 'How Sweet' with distinctive flair.
The group kicked off their performance with a high-energy hip-hop vibe alongside dancers, setting the tone for the night. The 'Bubble Gum' stage featured refreshing choreography that perfectly matched the upbeat synth sounds, amplifying their natural charm.
The winter version of 'Supernatural' maximized the year-end sentiment, blending the original New Jack Swing style with a festive carol feel for a fresh twist. NewJeans maintained a strong connection with the audience throughout their final performance of 'How Sweet,' showcasing their overwhelming presence.
This year, NewJeans has been active in both South Korea and Japan with their double single 'How Sweet' and their debut single 'Supernatural.' Their releases have consistently topped charts domestically and internationally, and they have been recognized in various year-end 'Best K-Pop' lists by prominent overseas media. Notably, they made a remarkable entry into Tokyo Dome in just 1 year and 11 months, proving their immense drawing power.
Looking ahead, NewJeans will perform on December 28 at NTV's 'Announcement! Most Played Songs of the Year ~Annual Music Awards 2024~,' on December 30 at TBS's '66th Japan Record Awards,' and on December 31 at MBC's 'Gayo Daejejun,' as well as at Japan's largest indoor festival, 'Countdown Japan 24/25.'
