NewJeans Unveils Vogue Korea Photoshoot Amid Contract Controversy

On December 18, the K-pop group NewJeans boldly showcased their individuality by launching their own account, 'Jins for Free,' after parting ways with Ador. The group revealed a stunning photoshoot for Vogue Korea, where the members donned traditional hanbok, exuding classic beauty, and later sported trendy outfits that conveyed a chic vibe.

Notably, Min Hee-jin, the former head of Ador, is credited as the special creative director for this shoot, and the members opted to use their real names instead of the group name, NewJeans.

On November 29, NewJeans announced their decision to terminate their exclusive contract with Ador, citing breaches of contract by the agency and a refusal to address their concerns. They asserted that the contract was void without any obligations for lawsuits or penalties, expressing a desire to continue working with Min after fulfilling their existing schedules.

However, allegations of tampering arose, suggesting that Min had met with investors through a relative of one of the members. Dispatch published photos of Min meeting with the investor and the member's uncle, along with interviews discussing investment matters. In response, Min denied the claims and filed a lawsuit against the journalists involved.

Despite the ongoing speculation, both NewJeans and Min have remained silent on the allegations while showing mutual support. NewJeans celebrated Min's birthday on their new account, and she reciprocated with a 'like' on their post.

Meanwhile, Ador has filed a lawsuit to confirm the validity of the contract with NewJeans, adding another layer to this unfolding situation.
