NewJeans Smiles at First Schedule After Adore Departure Announcement

NewJeans continues to fulfill their scheduled activities despite announcing their departure from Adore. The group appeared on Japan's TV Asahi 'Music Station' on November 29, marking their first official engagement following the urgent press conference where they declared the termination of their contract with Adore on November 28.
On November 30, 'Music Station' shared a thank you message on their official channel along with photos of the performers, which included all five members of NewJeans. In the released images, the members were seen smiling brightly, dressed in matching white pants and jackets, striking cheerful poses for the camera. This was a stark contrast to their somewhat somber expressions during their departure after the press conference.
During the broadcast, NewJeans reportedly did not address the ongoing dispute with Adore. Despite the heightened interest surrounding their first schedule post-announcement, they delivered a vibrant performance, receiving enthusiastic cheers from fans.
In their press conference, NewJeans announced their decision to terminate their contract with Adore, expressing their desire to pursue activities freely and work with former CEO Min Hee-jin. They stated, "Adore has violated its contractual obligations and failed to rectify these issues within the required timeframe, leading us to notify them of the termination. This notification was delivered to Adore on November 29, 2024, and is effective immediately, rendering the contract void. Therefore, we have no reason to seek a provisional injunction to terminate the contract, and we are free to pursue our activities."
They further emphasized, "We have diligently fulfilled our obligations as Adore's artists. The termination is solely due to Adore's breach of contract, and we are not liable for any penalties. We will continue to honor any contractual obligations with other parties prior to the termination."
In response, Adore expressed regret, stating, "We did not breach the contract, and claims of unilateral loss of trust do not constitute grounds for termination. The contract between Adore and NewJeans remains valid."
