NewJeans Parents Launch Social Media Account Amid Ongoing Dispute with Ador and HYBE

As the members of NewJeans continue their dispute with their agency Ador and its parent company HYBE, the parents of members Minji, Hani, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein have created a new social media account. On January 31, they announced that the account would serve as a temporary platform to represent their stance in the ongoing conflict with HYBE.

The parents explained that they felt there was no official channel to communicate their position, leading them to establish the account. They expressed concerns over certain media reports, claiming they received information suggesting that HYBE and Ador were attempting to spread false information about the members.

They emphasized that the content shared through this account would primarily address issues that the members find difficult to communicate directly. They requested understanding from the public, stating that they are in urgent need of a communication channel to clarify the facts as the members' only current representatives.

Previously, in November 2024, the NewJeans members held an emergency press conference, asserting that Ador had violated their contract and that they were no longer affiliated with the agency. In response, Ador filed a lawsuit to affirm the validity of the exclusive contracts with the members.

Despite this, the members have shown no intention of returning to Ador, even creating a separate account called 'JinsforFree' to solicit new stage names. Recently, they accused Ador of attempting to sow discord by meeting with their parents and have since appointed a legal representative from the law firm Sejong to pursue legal action.

The following is the full statement from the parents of the NewJeans members:

"Hello, we are the parents of Minji, Hani, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein. This account has been created as a temporary measure to represent our position in the dispute with HYBE.

Due to the lack of an official channel to convey our stance, we have made several attempts to communicate the facts through interviews with various media outlets and by reaching out to journalists. While some media have accurately reported our statements, they are in the minority. We have also tried to distribute our message through agencies, but have faced challenges with misrepresented headlines and distorted narratives.

The members' stories have often been misquoted or published in a negative light, while HYBE and Ador have disseminated hundreds of articles daily that either contain falsehoods or solely represent their perspective without proper fact-checking or the opportunity for rebuttal.

Regrettably, as we approach a preliminary injunction lawsuit, we have received reports that HYBE and Ador are once again distributing false articles targeting the members. This prompted the creation of this account.

We understand that this prolonged dispute may be exhausting for some, and we sincerely apologize for that. However, we ask for your understanding as we use this account to clarify facts that the members cannot communicate directly, as we are in urgent need of a channel to do so."
