NewJeans' 'How Sweet' Ranks 35th in Rolling Stone's Best Songs of 2024

The magazine praised the song for continuing NewJeans' trend of delivering experimental, fresh, and original music. Rolling Stone highlighted that since their debut in 2022, NewJeans has introduced sounds and genres rarely seen in K-pop, and 'How Sweet' is no exception, featuring an energetic electropop beat paired with bright, resonant vocals.
Additionally, 'How Sweet' has also been recognized by PopMatters, which included it in their 'The 15 Best K-Pop Songs of 2024' list, calling it another remarkable highlight in NewJeans' discography. The publication noted that the group exudes natural charm as they embrace the bouncy beat, describing 'How Sweet' as a pinnacle for those striving to push boundaries.
NewJeans' popularity is also soaring in Japan, where they ranked 3rd in the musician category of Yahoo! JAPAN's 'Yahoo! Search Awards 2024', announced on December 4. This award recognizes individuals and works that have seen a significant increase in search volume throughout the year. NewJeans secured a top position alongside well-known local artists like Number_i and Mrs. GREEN APPLE, showcasing their growing influence in Japan.
The group made their Japanese debut with the single 'Supernatural' in June and achieved the remarkable feat of being the fastest overseas artist to perform at Tokyo Dome within just 1 year and 11 months. Their success was further acknowledged when they received the Excellent Work Award at the prestigious 66th Japan Record Awards for 'Supernatural'.
