NewJeans' 'How Sweet' and 'Supernatural' Shine in Year-End Rankings

NewJeans continues to receive significant recognition as their songs from this year consistently rank in various prestigious year-end lists from international media outlets. Their track 'How Sweet' was featured on December 11 in the UK publication NME's 'The 25 Best K-Pop Songs of 2024.' Released as part of a double single in May, NME described 'How Sweet' as a lively breakup song infused with NewJeans' signature Y2K vibe.

Additionally, 'How Sweet' was also included in Billboard's 'The 25 Best K-Pop Songs of 2024: Staff Picks,' where it was praised for showcasing NewJeans' musical charm with its light sound that radiates warmth and freedom, while the members' voices add a sweet richness with each listen.

The song has also garnered acclaim from Rolling Stone, making it onto their 'The 100 Best Songs of 2024,' as well as PopMatters' 'The 15 Best K-Pop Songs of 2024.'

NewJeans' Japanese debut single 'Supernatural,' released in June, has also gained attention, being recognized by The New York Times as one of the 'Best Songs of 2024,' marking it as the only K-Pop song on that list.

The group's influence is further highlighted in various global annual reports. According to YouTube's domestic trend report, 'How Sweet' ranked 7th among the year's most popular songs, based on views of music videos and lyric videos in South Korea.

In Japan, Amazon Music listed 'How Sweet' and 'Supernatural' among the top K-Pop songs of 2024, while Apple Music Korea's 'Top 100 of 2024' featured 'How Sweet' at 3rd, 'ETA' at 8th, and 'Supernatural' at 10th, showcasing NewJeans' impressive presence with a total of 15 songs on the chart.

NewJeans has also made a mark on Spotify, ranking as the 5th most-streamed K-Pop artist globally this year, the highest position among K-Pop girl groups.

The group is set to perform at the '2024 Music Bank Global Festival in Japan' on December 14 and will appear on TBS's 'CDTV Live! Live! Christmas Special' on December 16.
