NewJeans Holds Emergency Press Conference on Contract Termination

The K-pop group NewJeans is set to hold an emergency press conference today, November 28, in the vicinity of Samseong-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, regarding their contract termination.

On November 13, NewJeans sent a formal notice to their agency, ADOR, stating that they would terminate their contract unless their demands, including the reinstatement of former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin, were met. The members reportedly requested that all significant breaches of their contract be rectified within 14 days of receiving the notice.

However, Min Hee-jin's return to ADOR was rendered impossible when she announced her departure from HYBE on November 20.

In response to the situation, ADOR issued a statement on November 27, indicating that the announcement was a response to the artists' formal notice. The agency also addressed an incident involving member Hani, who was reportedly told by a manager from Belift Lab to 'ignore' the situation, urging Belift Lab to treat Hani's concerns with the seriousness they deserve and to foster mutual respect.
