Netflix's 'Trauma Center' Continues to Dominate Global Rankings

Netflix's original series 'Trauma Center' (중증외상센터) is experiencing remarkable success worldwide. According to FlixPatrol, as of February 1, the show has climbed to the third spot in the global TV show rankings. It initially surpassed 'Squid Game' Season 2 to secure the second position on January 29, and although it dropped one spot on January 31, it remains highly ranked.
'Trauma Center' has maintained its top-tier status not only in South Korea but also in 14 countries, including Bangladesh, Bolivia, Chile, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, the Philippines, Qatar, Singapore, Venezuela, and Taiwan, where it has reached number one.
The top position is held by the American Netflix series 'The Night Agent' Season 2, which scored 785 points, followed by another U.S. series, 'The Recruit' Season 2, in second place. 'Squid Game 2' is in fourth place, continuing to engage audiences alongside 'Trauma Center' in a global box office battle.
Released on January 24, 'Trauma Center' tells the gripping story of a brilliant surgeon, Baek Kang-hyuk (played by Ju Ji-hoon), who is assigned to revive a struggling trauma team. The cast also includes Choo Young-woo as the first fellow Yang Jae-won, Ha Young as nurse Cheon Jang-mi, Yoon Kyung-ho as the head of the proctology department Han Yoo-rim, and Jung Jae-kwang as anesthesiology resident Park Kyung-won, all of whom have gained popularity following the show's release.
As anticipation builds for a second season, original creator Lee Nak-jun hinted during an interview on YTN News FM's 'Smart Radio Life' that the first season concluded with the formation of a core team. He mentioned that the team will face various challenges, including public relations issues surrounding the doctor helicopter and potential infection risks during trauma surgeries, which will be addressed in the upcoming season. He clarified that he is not the one writing the second season, but the original material includes such developments.
