Netflix's 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' OST Soars on Global Charts

The K-pop phenomenon is hotter than ever, with the Netflix animated film 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' featuring a soundtrack that is rapidly climbing global music charts. The girl group BLACKPINK has made a stunning return with their new single 'JUMP,' which has topped the iTunes 'Top Songs' chart in over 40 countries after a hiatus of 2 years and 8 months.

The soundtrack from 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' is making waves, with the song 'Golden' performed by the in-film girl group HuntRix reaching 20th place on the UK Official Singles Chart as of July 11, marking an 11-spot jump and securing its place on the chart for three consecutive weeks. Additionally, the popular boy group in the film, Lion Voice, saw their track 'Your Idol' rise to 26th place, while HuntRix's 'How It's Done' landed at 32nd.

The animated series follows HuntRix, a trio of global stars who protect the human world from evil spirits by day and hunt demons by night. This vibrant animation blends traditional Korean folklore with K-pop elements, and since its release last month, it has claimed the top spot in Netflix's movie category, gaining worldwide popularity.

The infectious nature of the songs has contributed significantly to its success, with many viewers finding themselves humming the OST without realizing it. On July 8, seven tracks from the 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' OST made their debut on the Billboard Hot 100, drawing attention and sparking predictions that it could be a contender for the Best Original Song category at the upcoming Academy Awards.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK's 'JUMP' has also made headlines, debuting at number one on the iTunes 'Top Songs' chart in 47 countries. Released on July 11 at 1 PM KST, the song has topped charts in South America, Europe, and Asia, while reaching third and fourth place in the U.S. and U.K., respectively. It also claimed the top spot on the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart.

This marks the group's first release since their second studio album 'Born Pink' in 2022. The track combines a girl-hip-hop style with intense EDM pop. The music video, directed by Grammy-winning Dave Meyers, quickly rose to number one on YouTube's 'Trending Music' chart on its release day, garnering over 26 million views.

BLACKPINK is currently on their world tour 'DEADLINE,' which kicked off with concerts at Goyang Sports Complex on July 5-6, and will perform in 16 cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Paris, and Toronto.
