Netflix Unveils Final Trailer for 'Squid Game' Season 3, Focusing on Trust

On June 14, Netflix released the final trailer for 'Squid Game' Season 3, reigniting the theme of 'trust.' This time, the focus shifts to the trust that others place in Seong Gi-hun (이정재). The 1 minute and 58 seconds trailer succinctly encapsulates key moments and characters from Seasons 1 through 3. It revisits Gi-hun's descent into gambling, his initial encounters with characters like Sae-byeok (정호연), Ali (아누팜 트리파티), and Sang-woo (박해수), and his return to the games in Season 2 where he attempted a rebellion.
The trailer hints at Gi-hun, dressed in a suit, responding to a call and walking towards an unknown destination, suggesting a reunion with the Front Man (이병헌). Director Hwang Dong-hyuk has teased a significant confrontation centered around 'trust and values.'
The latter part of the trailer reveals exclusive scenes from Season 3, including a soldier shooting at a superior in black attire and Hyun-joo (박성훈) pushing another participant in a maze, indicating fractures and divisions within the game.
Gi-hun's emotional journey deepens as he grapples with guilt over the loss of his friend Jung-bae at the end of Season 2. His dialogue with Geum-ja (강애심) reveals his psychological turmoil, questioning, "Do you think this is all your fault?" and reflecting on how the wicked blame others while good people are crushed by guilt. This leads to a poignant reminder from Season 1 when Sae-byeok said, "You're not that kind of person, are you?" suggesting Gi-hun is once again at a crossroads.
'Squid Game' Season 3 is set to premiere on June 27.
